Vijay Singh moved to the top of the PGA money list by capturing his fourth title of the season at the Funai Classic on Sunday. The Fijian fired a five-under par round 67 to finish at 23-under 265, four strokes clear of Tiger Woods, Stewart Cink and Scott Verplank. Woods has topped the money list for the last four years, but is now in serious jeopardy of not winning the title for the second time in his career. Singh started the day in a four-way tie for the lead on 18-under par, but steadily pulled ahead throughout the day - improving to 23-under with a long birdie putt on the 12th hole. Woods' strong finish culminated with a birdie on the 17th hole - his score of 31 on the back nine helping him to a round of 65 and putting him in a share of second. Verplank was in the hunt and matched Woods at 19-under on the 16th hole with a near perfect approach - enough to lift him to 18th on the money list and assure him a spot in the season-ending Tour Championship. Cink appeared to be the most credible challenger to Singh, reaching 20 under with a birdie on the 16th hole. But he had to settle for a round of 71 and a share of second after dropping a shot on the final hole. In contrast, Singh finished strongly, sweetly guiding home a long birdie putt at the final hole to leave him four strokes clear at 23-under par overall. His prize of $720 000 takes his season earnings to $ 6.8 million, a lead of $250 000 over Woods. His four-shot victory was the widest margin at Disney since Jack Nicklaus won by nine shots in 1972, and it ended eight straight years of the tournament being decided by either one shot or a playoff.
