Spyker to race new car at Italian GP

"We should see an increase in our race and qualifying pace and be up there in the mix of the midfield if everything works out," Spyker chief technical officer Mike Gascoyne said. "This is just the start and there are many areas of the car we will revisit, there is a lot more to come from this team."
Mallya and the 'Orange India' consortium - which includes Spyker's F1 director Michiel Mol - made a bid for the team on Friday and have been given 30 days to conduct due diligence.
The consortium "has laid down an offer of $108.7 million," Spyker Cars said.
Dutch sports car maker Spyker bought the team, formerly known as Midland, from Russian-born Canadian businessman Alex Shnaider in 2006 for $72 million.
The team has endured a difficult season and has no points in the driver and team standings.
