Hockenheim, Germany:
Michael Schumacher followed up on his fifth Formula One championship by capturing Sunday's German Grand Prix to equal another milestone.
Schumacher led virtually from start to finish in his Ferrari to win a relatively uneventful home race.
It was his ninth victory of the season, the fourth time he equaled his own record for the number of wins in a year.
Schumacher had clinched his record-tying fifth champion last Sunday by winning the French Grand Prix.
Juan Pablo Montoya took advantage of a late unscheduled pit stop by Michael's younger brother Ralf to move into the second place and finished 10.5 seconds behind in his BMW-Williams, strengthening his hold on second place in drivers' standings.
Ralf Schumacher, who made that pit stop with four laps remaining, was third, 14.4 seconds behind in the second BMW-Williams.
Rubens Barrichello, Michael's Ferrari teammate, was fourth, 23.1 seconds behind.
David Coulthard was fifth in a McLaren-Mercedes, followed by Nick Heidfeld in a Sauber. Both were one lap behind. (AP)
