Formula One may be coming to India towards the end of October but Indian GP is all set to come to fans on September 23. The formal date for the global launch of the official F1 game, F1 2011 from Codemasters will feature the Buddh International Circuit at Greater Noida.

While the previous edition of the game won the BAFTA in the sports category last year, if initial reviews are anything to go by, this game is a step in the same direction with added improvements. Reports suggest that fans will be able to test their skills on the Indian circuit which will be a close representation of how the actual track is expected to feel, behave and appear come this October.

Gaming websites like IGN.com have also stated in their review that F1 2011 has included KERS and DRS which is a major step towards making the game seem as close to the real deal as possible. For those (like me) who played the previous and all the preceding editions of the game, it will be come as no surprise that an arcade-style mode of play will still reflect in the actual game and the realism will not be at par with the likes of Gran Turismo racing simulation. F1 2011 is however, expected to trace the pulse of the actual world of Formula One right from the paddock to the pits and straight into the racing tracks over expansive, technical and often grueling sessions, much like in the actual world of Formula One.

It is clear then that the treat for Indian F1 fans who own a gaming console, or a pc, is going to increase by several notches, assuming pre-orders were placed in time. I did so do keep watching this space for more.
