The Istanbul Grand Prix is not going to be all about the actual on-track racing. With the Formula One Teams' Association set to have a meeting on Sunday, the implications of the interest shown by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation in buying ownership rights of Formula One recently, may be scrutinized as well.
While Formula One is owned by the private equity group CVC, its representative in Bernie Eccelstone has already arrived here and has distanced himself from rumours that F1 is for sale.
Sunday's meeting to discuss the interest shown by News Corp and Exor, an Italian investment firm, will be attended by all 11 members while the big four - Red Bull, Mercedes, Ferrari and McLaren - are likely to have a separate meeting later in the day as well.
