The crew chiefs for Kevin Harvick and Burney Lamar's Busch Series teams were suspended six races each for violations discovered at Daytona International Speedway. Shane Wilson, Harvick's crew chief, was thrown out of the garage before Friday night's Busch race. The decision came when NASCAR discovered unapproved aerodynamic modifications on the number 21 Chevrolet. His additional penalty was the six-race suspension, which begins with this weekend's event in Chicago, and a $15,000 fine. Docket points Harvick was also docked 50 driver points and Richard Childress was docked 50 car owner points. The points loss was hardly felt by Harvick, who still holds a 338-point lead over Carl Edwards in the Busch standings. Meanwhile, Lamar's number 77 Chevrolet owned by Harvick and his wife failed post-race inspection when NASCAR discovered unapproved alterations to the shock absorbers. Crew chief Gene Nead was suspended six races and fined $15,000. Lamar was also docked 50 driver points and DeLana Harvick was docked 50 car owner points. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
