College students design racing car

The students of K J Somaiya College of Engineering have devised the first-of-its-kind racing car in India for Rs 12 lakh over a period of one year.

The students of K J Somaiya College of Engineering have devised the first-of-its-kind racing car in India for Rs 12 lakh over a period of one year.

Orion Racing Team is a team of engineers from KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai dedicated to designing and fabricating a Formula Race Car as per Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) specification for Global F-SAE Competitions.

Team Orion is an experienced contender in the field of Race Car Engineering, having built two race cars viz. the Barracuda 150 and the Barracuda 600.

Vishvesh, student of KJ Somaiya College, said "We a Firewall, engine is right behind the driver incase of mishap it protects the driver. the body gives strength, impact tests too".

It's not only about grit and grease. These young engineers will prepare a business plan to market their creation to potential investors. The perfect formula for this set of hot wheels.
