London:

Stoke City manager Tony Pulis became the latest Premier League boss to be censured for making complimentary comments about World Cup final referee Tony Pulis when he was warned as to his future conduct by the Football Association (FA) on Wednesday.

Pulis joined Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson and Chelsea's Carlo Ancelotti in contravening FA regulations prohibiting any comment whatsoever regarding referees by bosses in the build-up to matches.

Pulis said of Webb: "He's as good as there is. What makes him special is that little bit of an aura he has about him."

A statement read: "The FA has today (Wednesday) warned Tony Pulis as to his future conduct."

"The Stoke City manager's warning relates to his pre-match media comments prior to the FA Cup semi-final against Bolton Wanderers on April 17."

Both Ferguson and Ancelotti managers made complimented Webb ahead of the Premier League clash between the title rivals at Old Trafford on May 8.

Ferguson was warned to his future conduct on Tuesday before the FA issued an identical ruling on Ancelotti several hours later the same day.
