Real Madrid footballer Cristiano Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes Thursday denied that the 29-year-old striker wants to leave the Spanish club to return to his former team Manchester United.
Rumours of a return to England for the Portuguese international have been gathering pace recently as Manchester United look to rebuild the team under coach Louis van Gaal, reports Xinhua.
It was believed Real Madrid's debt of over 600 million euros may make the deal more attractive with the club making a multi-million-euro sale for a player approaching his 30th birthday.
But his agent completely rubbished the possibility, insisting that Ronaldo instead is looking at a long-term stay at Real Madrid, where he joined in 2009.
"Cristiano is very happy at Real Madrid and has always been so. He's going to break all the records with Real Madrid and he's going to retire here. He has a lot of love for Manchester United because his heart was there for six years, but now he's only thinking about Real Madrid and he's going to stay here forever," Mendes said.
"It's one thing to respect the people who remember him but he's with Madrid to the death. We didn't receive any offers for him because people know that it's impossible to take Cristiano from Real Madrid. Therefore, it's not worth it to even call and ask about him."
Mendes added that Ronaldo's age was not a problem.
"He gets better every time and he'll continue to get better into his 40s," said the agent, who added that as well as being the best player in the world Ronaldo was also "the best athlete in the world".
"Nobody compares to him. There won't be anyone like him for the next 500 years. He's a very humble person and a family man. A fantastic father. He's the son any mother would love to have. He's concerned about others. There are so many great things about him that it's impossible to list all of them," he said.
"Cristiano's dream is to win another Champions League. His dreams are always short term. He's never satisfied and always wants more. He never stops surprising me. It's impossible to find anyone like him in the history of sport."
