Juventus maintains lead at Serie A

Patrick Vieira scored in the 37th minute Wednesday and Juventus beat Udinese 1-0 to maintain its perfect record in the Serie A.
The French midfielder, signed from Arsenal in the offseason, volleyed in his second goal in four games after a cross from Manuele Blasi was headed into his path by Alessandro Del Piero.
With a 4-0-0 record, Juventus has 12 points, two ahead of Fiorentina and Palermo, which both won Wednesday.
Fiorentina won 3-1 at Lecce and Palermo beat Reggina 1-0 at home on Christian Terlizzi's fourth goal of the season.
Fourth-placed Inter Milan, on nine points, won 1-0 at Chievo Verona after Serie A debutant Walter Samuel scored.
The former Real Madrid defender sat out the first three matches for spitting at Pavel Nedved in Inter's win over Juventus in the Italian Super Cup.
AC Milan remained five points behind Juve following its 2-0 win over Lazio at San Siro, where Andriy Shevchenko and Kaka both scored early in the first half. (AP)
