Irina Shayk and Antonella Roccuzzo: The women behind Ronaldo and Messi

At the Ballon d'Or awards, most eyes are set firmly on star footballers. It is almost a certainty, however, that each and every eye is also searching for wives and girlfriends of these high-profile stars. This edition of the FIFA Awards was no different as Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi walked in with their stunning partners. (Ronaldo-Irina husband-wife?)

While Ronaldo - winner of the Ballon d'Or this year - was dressed in a smart black tuxedo, partner and supermodel Irina Shayk stunned all once again in a lace LBD. Shayk (28) has been dating Ronaldo since 2010 and may have secretly married after Ronaldo referred to her as his wife in his speech on Tuesday. (Messi outdresses Ronaldo)

Shayk though had competition - from a gorgeous mother of one Argentinian. Messi has been steady with Antonella Roccuzzo since 2008 but the couple has largely kept their relationship away from prying eyes. Roccuzzo, who gave birth to Messi's son Thiago in 2012, was in no mood to say no to shutterbugs on Tuesday though. The 25-year-old wore a sequin blue gown with stunning accessories to compliment her look. She even revealed a tattoo on her right hand - her son's name with a heart sign!

While one is an underwear model, the other has studied nutrition. Despite their contrasting professions and backgrounds, both Irina and Antonella showed that, behind successful men there are indeed, stunning women.
