Injured Shay Given out for a month

Aston Villa say goalkeeper Shay Given will be out for a month after injuring his hamstring against Manchester United in the Premier League last week.

Villa made the announcement on Monday, two days after the 35-year-old Ireland international tore his left hamstring in the 1-0 loss to Man United at Villa Park.

American goalkeeper Brad Guzan replaced Given in the match and is expected to start at Bolton on Saturday.

Villa manager Alex McLeish says "it is disappointing to lose Shay in such circumstances," but we "have total faith in Brad" and "can be proud of the way he stepped in when Shay had to come off."
