Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng had his three-match suspension reduced to two Bundesliga matches by the German Football Association's sports court (DFB) on Monday.
The 26-year-old was originally banned for three games having been sent off after only 17 minutes of Bayern's 1-1 draw with Schalke 04 last Monday for a foul on Sidney Sam in the area.
But Bayern appealed the DFB's decision and following a meeting of the governing body's sports court in Frankfurt-am-Main, Boateng's suspension has been reduced. (Bayern Munich Manager Guardiola says Every Game in Bundesliga is Difficult)
The Germany centre-back missed Bayern's 2-0 win at bottom side Stuttgart on Saturday, which kept them eight-points clear at the top of the German league table.
He must also sit out this Saturday's league match at home to Hamburg. (Pep Guardiola Could Coach Qatar for 2022 World Cup)
It means Boateng is next available for Bayern's Champions League last 16, first-leg clash away to Shakhtar Donetsk on February 17 and can next play in the Bundesliga at Paderborn on February 21.
