A split second can change life dramatically - just ask Mario Goetze. The German midfielder found the goal in the 113th minute against Argentina to help his side win a dramatic World Cup final on Sunday. And his life promised to never be the same again!
In a team of superheroes, Goetze emerged as the biggest star in the title clash - his extra-time goal ensuring one of the most memorable moments of the World Cup. Substituted in the second-half of the match, The baby-faced player's superb chest and volley from an Andre Schuerrle cross earned him instant stardom. Supermodel Brommel came out on the pitch to greet her hero after the match and landed a massive kiss on Goetze. It was clear that she was indeed his biggest fan when she snapped a picture of him from her phone - Goetze obliging with a massive smile. As the world looked on, the two held hands soaked in the glorious moment.

Goetze - who plays for Borussia Dotmund in Bundesliga - was always seen as a promising and upcoming player. That he would slam the winner and help Germans to their fourth World Cup trophy however, was not predicted by many - just like many who had not had a glimpse of Brommel before she grabbed her man and grabbed headlines after the final.

Brommel, it is learnt, follows football passionately and the World Cup was not the first instance when she chose to cheer Goetze. In fact, the player chose to specifically mention her in the post-match press conference. "I owe a lot to my family and my girlfriend who always believed in me," he said. (Read more here)
Goetze then has become a symbol of pride - for his footballing abilities -Â as well as envy - for his on-field success and off-field romance with Brommel. And at 22, this player finds himself at the top of the world and would have to work hard to remain there in the time to come.
