Iceland, a tiny nation of 330,000, are on a high after their sensational victory over England in the Round of 16. Minnows they may be, but the islanders have not lost a match yet in Euro 2016, having won and drawn twice each.
France, on the other hand, are clearly the favourites at home. Having won two major tournaments in their own backyard previously - 1984 Euro and 1998 World Cup - the 'Les Bleus' are eager to please the home crowd.
The winning team will go on to meet the reigning World Champions Germany, who defeated Italy on Saturday night, at Stade Velodrome in Marseille for a place in the summit clash.
What France will not do is take Iceland lightly, as England did, following the latter's shock defeat in the last 16.
"For a lot of people they are the surprise of the tournament, like the Leicester City of Euro 2016," said Bacary Sagna, referring to the Premier League champions. "But they totally deserve to be here and have shown they can beat good teams. You can't underestimate them."
