Yuvraj Singh is back! Leaner, meaner and clearly very hungry

One of the best natural talents that the country has produced is clearly in a happy place right now, seven months since he was dropped from the Indian team. An 89-ball 123, including 8 fours and 7 sixes in the first of the three unofficial ODIs between India A and West Indies A will be interesting stats for the selectors ahead of the home series against Australia in October. The six-week rigourous training session in France has evidently done wonders for the left-hander, who is eyeing a comeback to the senior team. According to Yuvraj, the hard work he put in in the off season is paying off afterall there's nothing like getting a hundred in a comeback match.
However, to be fair, the Windies A bowling wasn't particulary impressive. Four out of the seven Caribbean bowlers who were employed have had no taste of playing international cricket. Â
Despite that, this comeback of sorts for Yuvraj is still an impressive one. The cancer survivor has had to prove his mettle against tremendous odds in the past and he's not someone to shy away from a challenge.
It was good to see Yuvraj, who is also captaining India A for the three one-dayers, back to his old smiling self.
How will the next match pan out for him, no one knows, but his dinner plans for the next few days in Bangalore are quite clear. As revealed by Rohan Gavaskar in the post-match interview on Sunday, Yuvraj had dinner with him the previous night. It's no big surprise that Yuvi now wants to dine with Rohan every night before a match in this series.
