Woman Cricketer Durga Bhavani Commits Suicide in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada:
Woman cricket player Durga Bhavani allegedly committed suicide on Sunday at her residence in Gunadala in Andhra Pradesh, police said. (Click here for latest Cricket stories)
The incident was reported to police by her brother. Some family issues could be the reason behind the woman taking the extreme step, Guru Praksh, Investigation Officer attached with Machavaram Police station said.
Bhavani, 25, had represented Andhra Pradesh in the Ranji trophy.
Police is yet to record statement of her husband Satya Prasad, a sports journalist. Her body has been sent for post mortem, the officer said.
A case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered and investigations are underway, he added.
