Unlike many other cricketers Sachin Tendulkar doesn't play golf but he could soon be promoting a golf course and academy in Ahmedabad.

Ahmedabad:

Unlike many other cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar doesn't play golf but he could soon be promoting a golf course and academy in Ahmedabad. That is because the Master Blaster has acquired a plot which is in the township of the Kensville Golf and Country Club.

Sachin Tendulkar got his first double hundred in Ahmedabad.  So its not surprising that he wants to own a house in Gujarat.

"He has bought the plot for about six Lakh rupees and the total size of the plot is 1672 meters," N M Solanki, sub-registrar said.

This is the only functional 18-hole golf course in Gujarat which has a residential township. The promoters don't want to reveal the extent of the association with Tendulkar but its believed that the cricket star will be endorsing the golf academy.

This deal is expected to push up the real estate value in and around considerably.

"For areas around it like Bavla it indeed is good news with a star like Sachin buying a property here," Solanki said.

The fans meanwhile are thrilled at the thought that Sachin may now be spotted more often in Ahmedabad.
