Karachi:

Former captain Wasim Akram has once again failed to show up for the meeting of a Pakistan Cricket Board-appointed inquiry committee to investigate the national team's disastrous tour of Australia.

Wasim, who didn't attend the first two hearings of the committee, was again absent from the hearing being held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore on Saturday.

No reason was given for is absence and he had cited his television commitments as the reason for skipping the first two hearings.

Wasim was brought in to the inquiry committee to replace former Test batsman Haroon Rasheed, who excused himself from the committee due to his commitments.

The inquiry committee that is headed by the chief operating officer Wasim Bari and includes Yawar Saeed, Wazir Ali Khoja, legal advisor Tafazzul Rizvi is expected to wind up its proceedings today and submit its findings to PCB Chairman Ejaz Butt for further action.

The committee has questioned several players and the manager, coach and assistant coach of the team who went to Australia.

Pakistan was whitewashed in the Tests and one-dayers before losing its lone Twenty20 match in Australia. The media was not allowed access to the hearing of the committee.
