Indian cricketers are in superb form on and off the pitch this season. Having won six ODI competitions on-the-trot, some of the Team India members are also scoring it big in their personal lives, too. Karnataka pacer Vinay Kumar is the latest Indian cricketer to shed his bachelor's tag. Hot on the heels of Dinesh Karthik's engagement with squash player Deepika Palikal, Vinay has married Delhi girl Richa in a private function in the Capital on November 25. A reception was held in Bangalore on November 29.
The 29-year-old Vinay is the latest in a rather long list of Indian players who have either married or got engaged this year. Lakshmipathy Balaji, Yusuf Pathan, Umesh Yadav, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ashok Dinda, Ankit Chavan (of Rajasthan Royals who was jailed for allegations of spot-fixing in IPL 6) have all tied the knot, while disgraced former Test bowler Sreesanth has been engaged to a Rajasthan girl and will marry this month.
While Pujara and Yadav figure in the current Indian squad, the rest will now seek a huge slice of Lady Luck to regain their national team berths. Interestingly, right-arm pacer Vinay became the most expensive Indian bowler in a One-Day International as he conceded 102 runs in his nine overs against Australia in the seventh match of the series at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on November 2. It was the fourth most expensive by a bowler to have bowled 10 overs or less and fifth-most expensive overall.
