Wellington:
New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori says he will miss his side's three Twenty20 cricket internationals against Pakistan later this month because of a sore back.
Vettori said on Wednesday he is to consult a specialist over the injury which has also prevented him playing in New Zealand's domestic Twenty20 series.
He missed the first match of New Zealand's five-match one-day international series against in India earlier this month with the same injury. New Zealand went on to lose the series 5-0, extending its losing streak in ODIs to 11 matches.
Vettori said he hoped to be fit for the first Test against Pakistan which starts in Hamilton on Jan. 7.
