Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Ajit Agarkar shared a match-winning stand of 57 (unbroken), which is Kolkata Knight Riders' best for the seventh wicket in the IPL and the second highest in the IPL - the highest being 60 between Ravi Jadeja and Shane Warne for Rajasthan Royals against Kings XI Punjab at Cape Town on April 26, 2009.
Shukla, with his unbeaten 48 off 35 balls, has top-scored in the game. The said innings is his best in the IPL, bettering the 42 off 33 balls against Chennai at Chennai last year.
Shukla, thanks to his all-round performance, has got his first Man of the Match award in the IPL.
The most expensive first over of the IPL 2009 has been bowled by Brad Hodge, who conceded 22 runs, including three sixes - all hit by Naman Ojha.
Rajasthan Royals have won six and lost seven, apart from a no result game out of 14 contested in the second edition of the IPL.
With 13 points, they finished sixth in the Points table.
Kolkata Knight Riders' four-wicket victory is their first in four matches against Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. Today, they accomplished another first in the IPL 2009 - two victories in a row.
Kolkata Knight Riders have won three out of 14 contested in the IPL 2009.
Rajasthan Royals (101 for nine) have registered their lowest total against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The match has produced the first instance of five run-outs in the IPL 2009.
