Here are the highlights of Day 1 of the 3rd Test between India and Sri Lanka on Wednesday.

Angelo Matthews's unbeaten 86 is his best ever innings in Tests - his second half-century overall. His first fifty in Tests was an unbeaten 64 against Pakistan at Colombo,SSC in July this year.
Tillakaratne Dilshan, for the first time in Tests, has completed his 1,000 runs (1081) in 2009. He is the fourth batsman to make 1,000 runs or more this year, joining Thilan Samaraweera(1234), Mahela Jayawardene (1182) and Andrew Strauss (1071).
Dilshan's 11th Test hundred is his third against India. His hundred against India at Braboure Stdium, Mumbai is his sixth overseas.
Dilshan is the second Sri Lankan to post two hundreds in a Test series in India. Duleep Mendis - 105 and 105 at Chepauk in 1982-83 - had made two hundreds in the same Test match..
Dilshan's tally of six centuries for Sri Lanka in a calendar year is bettered only by Aravinda de Silva's 7 in 1997.
Sri Lanka's 366 for eight is the highest score against India by any team on the first day of the Test match in India, obliterating the 362 for seven by Australia at Nagpur in 2004-05.
Sri Lanka's aforesaid total is the highest by them in a day's play, bettering the 365 for five on the fifth day of the Colombo RPS Test in 1997-98.
Prasanna Jayawardene (1012) has become the third Sri Lankan wicketkeeper to complete his 1,000 runs, joining Kumar Sangakkara (3117) and Romesh Kaluwitharana (1872).
Tharanga Paranavitana (53) has posted his maiden fifty overseas - his first against India - his third in Test Cricket
Sri Lankan openers, for the fourth time against India, have posted fifty-plus in the same innings - the firist three occasions are - Wettimuny (79) and Ratnayeke (93) at Kanpur in 1986-87; Jayasuriya (53) and Atapattu (108) at Mohali and Jayasuriya (50) and Atapattu (98) at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, both the instances in the 1997-98 series.
Mahela Jayawardene's aggregate of 361 (ave.90.25) in the present series is a record for Sri Lanka in a Test series in India.
Mahela Jayawardene (1522) became the second batsman after Sachin Tendulkar (1552) to make 1500 runs in India-Sri Lanka Tests.
