# Sachin Tendulkar took his runs' tally in 2010 to 1432 at an average of 79.55 in 13 Tests - the second best by an Indian player a calendar year, next only to the 1462 (ave.56.23) in 14 Tests by Virender Sehwag in 2008.
 
# Apart from Tendulkar and Sehwag, Sunil Gavaskar is the only other Indian player to amass 1400 runs in a calendar year - 1407 (ave.54.11) in 17 Tests in 1979.
 
# Tendulkar is the first batsman to appear in 175 Tests.
 
# Virender Sehwag has posted his 12th duck in Tests - his second against South Africa.
 
# Dale Steyn has taken Sehwag's wicket five times in Tests.
 
# Ishant Sharma has posted his first duck against South Africa - his eighth in Tests.
 
# Sreesanth has recorded his seventh duck in Tests - his third against South Africa 
 
# Gambhir has completed his 10,000 first-class runs, aggregating 10,002 (ave.54.35) in 121 matches, including 32 hundreds and 42 fifties.
 
# Rahul Dravid (11957 in 148  Tests) has surpassed Brian Lara's tally of 11953 in 131 Tests, moving into the third place behind Sachin Tendulkar (14402) and Ricky Ponting (12332).
 
# Morne Morkel is the 13th South African bowler to claim 100 wickets or more in Tests.
 
# Morkel (4/20) has recorded his best bowling figures against India, surpassing the 3 for 63 at Kanpur in April 2008.
 
# Harbhajan Singh has amassed 418 as a batsman at an average of 32.15 in eleven Tests in 2010 - his best performance in a calendar year, surpassing the 410 (ave.21.57) in 13 Tests in 2008.
 
# Harbhajan's 27 is his second best innings against South Africa, next only to the 39 at Nagpur in February 2010.
