De Villiers has received his second Man of the Match award for playing an outstanding innings. Villiers' 79 not out off 55 balls is his second highest score in the IPL - his highest being 105 not out off 54 balls against Chennai Super Kings at Durban on April 23, 2009.

de Villiers is the second batsman after Matthew Hayden (546) to make 400 runs in the IPL 2009, aggregating 405 at an average of 67.50, including one century and three fifties, in 12 matches.
