Here are the statistical highlights of the fourth day's play of the third Test between India and Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Thilan Samaraweera (137 not out + 83), for the first time, has registered a century and a fifty in the same Test match against India.
 
Samaraweera (306) became the fourth batsman to aggregate 300 runs or more in the series, joining  Sangakkara (467), Sehwag (348) and Tendulkar (347).

Samaraweera's batting average of 153.00 is the highest by a Sri Lankan player in a three-Test rubber against India.

Samaraweera and Mendis were associated in a ninth wicket stand of 118 - Sri Lanka's highest in Tests  bettering the 105 between Chaminda Vaas and Nuwan Kulasekara against England at Lord's in  2006.

The 118-run partnership for the ninth wicket is the fourth highest against India.           

Virender Sehwag has posted a century and a duck in the same test match for the second time - the first instance was against England - 106 & 0 at Nottingham in 2002.  He is the first Indian batsman to record the distinction against Sri Lanka.

Vijay Manjrekar, Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar are the three Indian batsmen to register the feat of a century and a duck in the same Test match twice.

Sehwag's 11th duck in Tests is his second against Sri Lanka.

Sehwag is the only Indian all-rounder to post a hundred and claim three wickets in an innings in the same Test match against Sri Lanka.

Pragyan Ojha (7/204) has produced his career-best figures in a Test match - 4/115 + 3/89. 

Ojha's tally of eight wickets at 64.37 runs apiece in the series at a strike rate of 123.0 is the highest for India in the present series.

Ojha is the leading wicket-taker for India in the present series.

Kumar Sangakkara's series aggregate of 467 at an average of 116.75 in five innings is his career-best.

Prasanna Jayawardene's first duck against India is his sixth overall.

Sehwag (3/51) has registered his best bowling performance against Sri Lanka

Amit Mishra (3/47) has also registered his best bowling performance against Sri Lanka.

Ajantha Mendis has posted his career-best score.  His 78 off 157 balls is the highest by number ten batsman for Sri Lanka, eclipsing the 64 by Nuwan Kulasekara against England at Lord's in 2006.

Mendis's aforesaid knock is the highest by a number ten batsman against India, obliterating the 68 by Andy Roberts (West Indies) at Kolkata in 1983-84.
