Nagpur:
Chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth on Wednesday said that the Indian team's performance in the second one-dayer against Australia was outstanding and he was happy that Mahendra Singh Dhoni was back to his old swashbuckling best.
"The team's performance today was outstanding. All of them played well without exception. The old Mahendra Singh Dhoni was seen today. He was brilliant. So too were Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and others," he said after declaring that the selectors have retained the same team for the next two ODIs of the seven-match series.
The third and fourth ODIs are to be held in Delhi (October 31) and Mohali (November 2).
Srikkanth pointed out that beating a strong side like Australia by a huge margin was not easily accomplished.
"Beating a team like Australia by 99 runs is not a joke. This would give India the confidence to do well in the rest of the series," he said.
