New Delhi:

The Sri Lankan team presently in England for the T20 World Cup has cancelled a scheduled visit to Oxford due to security concerns.

This comes as an aftermath of the LTTE crisis and the terrorist attack the team suffered in Pakistan. Security arrangements in Oxford were apparently not made in time and the Oxford Union apologised for the delay.

Muttiah Muralitharan, Kumar Sangakkara and team manager Brendon Kuruppu informed the Oxford
Union debating society on Friday they feared a backlash after a front page story in the Times claimed that 20,000 Tamil civilians had been killed in the recent hostilities between government troops and LTTE.
