Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly is to deliver the fourth Dilip Sardesai memorial lecture at the Bombay Gymkhana on Friday on "Effects of T20 on Test cricket."
The first three lectures in memory of the deceased former India Test cricketer, who passed away on July 2, 2007, were delivered by Sunil Gavaskar, Bishen Singh Bedi and Kapil Dev.
Sardesai played 30 Tests for India between 1961 and 1972, scoring 2001 runs with a highest score of 212, one of the five triple figure innings he had played. He had averaged a shade under 40.
Sardesai, one of the architects of India's historic, maiden Test series triumph in the West Indies in 1971, was also a prolific run-getter in domestic cricket and his first class career lasted 13 years from 1960 to 1973.
