Sourav Ganguly Becomes Brand Ambassador of 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup
Sourav Ganguly, who co-owns a football team in the Indian Super League, is the first non-cricketer to become brand ambassador of the 2017 FIFA Under-17 World Cup to be played in India.

Ganguly's association with the Under-17 World Cup, will be through one of FIFA's main sponsors - Coca-Cola. The cola giants have signed up Ganguly for a three-year deal ending 2017. Ganguly replaced Sachin Tendulkar, whose contract ended last year. (Tendulkar Asks Ganguly To Stay Young)
"Ganguly is on board and a part of the team that will lead our charge towards the FIFA Under-17 World Cup football 2017," Coca-Cola India and South West Asia vice-president, marketing and commercial Debabrata Mukherjee told the Economic Times.
Coca-Cola is a partner of the 2017 FIFA event to be held in India for the first time. "This could be a watershed event on the Indian football canvas," Mukherjee said.
Not only football, 43-year-old Ganguly will support several grassroots activities, including school-based work. One of India's leading Test captains is now a joint secretary of the Cricket Association of Bengal and is on BCCI's advisory panel for selection of coaches.
