South African skipper Graeme Smith has been ruled out of the three-match ODI series after he failed to recover from the finger injury he sustained during the first Test in Nagpur.
Senior batsman Jacques Kallis will lead the side in Smith's absence while in-form Hashim Amla has been named as his replacement.
South African team management is hopeful of wicket-keeper batsman Mark Boucher's return, who missed the second Test due to a back spasm.
