Melbourne:
A seagull picked up the bail dislodged by a Brett Lee delivery and teased the bowler, who unsuccessfully chased the bird around the field, leaving the spectators in splits during Australia's tour match against England Lions.
The comic incident added some interesting moments to the boring two-day match when Lee, returning from a rib muscle injury, bowled England tailender Liam Plunkett and one of the stump bails flew to square leg.
"The stray bail was picked up by a seagull which flew away before returning with the bail in its beak to tease Lee who chased the bird around the field," the 'Courier Mail' reported.
"The Canterbury crowd was in hysterics as the seagull flew off with umpires forced to call for a spare bail before the match continued," it added.
