Sydney:
The Sydney Cricket Ground will remain the city's venue for Australian Test and limited-overs matches for the next five years after a new contract was signed between Cricket Australia and local officials.
Cricket Australia said on Tuesday the agreement, which was signed earlier this week, will allow for eight days of international cricket starting with a one-day match between Australia and Sri Lanka on Nov. 5.
The fifth Ashes Test against England will be played from Jan. 3-7 at the SCG, which has hosted Test matches since 1882. That will be followed by two one-day matches against England on Jan. 23 and Feb. 2.
The agreement ends speculation that Sydney matches could move to other venues, including the former Olympic stadium.
