Karachi:
All the cricketers who retired before 1978 are entitled to pension as per the scheme launched by former PCB Chairman Lt. General Tauqir Zia.
Though Nawaz retired in 1984, he claims that some other cricketers who retired with or after him were getting pension from the PCB hence he should also get the benefit.
"Majid Khan, Asif Iqbal, Mushtaq Muhammad who retired at the same time as me are all getting the pension but I am being ignored," Mawaz, who played 55 Tests and 45 one-dayers, said.
Nawaz said he was being ignored because he has criticised the present Board set-up including chairman Ejaz Butt on various issues.
"I am also entitled to the monthly pension scheme but despite several reminders, the Board is not listening to me. I even met with COO Wasim Bari last week and sought a meeting with Butt but this did not happen," he said.
Nawaz said if board would not listen to him, he has no option but to take his case to the Chief Justice of Pakistan for justice.
"Whatever my views about this board but I have served Pakistan cricket well and I deserve the pension as well."
Sources claim that Nawaz was not getting the pension because of some outstanding financial matters with the PCB which include some advance payments from the board.
