Sachin Tendulkar continues to be an idol for millions around the world. For the legendary cricketer though, one man is the real idol - tennis superstar Boris Becker. Tendulkar - a cricketing demi-god who smashed almost every batting record over decades as a professional sportsperson - posted a photograph with Becker on his official Facebook page on Monday.
"Guess what? Bumped into a tennis superstar who I admired and grew up watching!!! What a lovely man....," Tendulkar wrote. The photograph was shared over 700 times by fans within four hours of being put up. (Roger Federer dislikes Novak Djokovic, says Boris Becker)
While Tendulkar is perhaps the biggest name in cricket, Becker is a giant himself in tennis' Hall of Fame. A six-time Major singles champion, he was also the youngest Wimbledon champion - at 17. Little wonder then that a young Tendulkar was an avid fan and now, a more mature Tendulkar continues to adore his 47-year-old hero. (Boris Becker seeks British citizenship)
