Sachin, Gilly fined for slow over rates

Sachin Tendulkar and Adam Gilchrist were slapped a fine of $20,000 each for slow over rate in the IPL match played on Saturday.

Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar and his Deccan Chargers counterpart Adam Gilchrist were on Sunday slapped a fine of $20,000 each for slow over rate in the Indian Premier League match played on Saturday.

"A decision in this regard was taken by match referee Devdas Govindjee from South Africa," the IPL authorities said in a statement.

Deccan Chargers defeated Mumbai Indians by 12 runs on Saturday.

The Delhi Daredevils were also penalised for a similar slow over rate in their April 23 match against Chennai Super Kings at the same venue.
