Angkrish Raghuvanshi played an impressive knock for Kolkata Knight Riders during the side's IPL 2026 clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Thursday, albeit in a losing cause. In the game at Eden Gardens, the KKR star smashed 52 off 29 balls. His innings met with an unfortunate end as the player was run out following a miscommunication with Rinku Singh. The southpaw cut the ball to the left of backward point and took off for a single. As fielder Ehsan Malinga picked up the ball, Rinku denied the run, but it was too late for Raghuvanshi by then, as the latter had already crossed almost half of the pitch.
Malinga threw the ball to spinner Shivang Kumar, who clipped off the bails at the non-striker's end in time.
After the dismissal, Rinku was seen fuming at Raghuvanshi, whose poor running had earlier resulted in Cameron Green's run-out in the innings.
Finally, Raghuvanshi ended his innings with a run out on a straight shot of Rinku Singh to Malinga.. who threw back and cudnt return to his crease in time#KKRvSRH #SRHvKKR #SRHvsKKR #KKRvsSRH #AbhishekSharma #TravisHead #Ipl pic.twitter.com/owRvy5ZJEs

Heinrich Klaasen's experience-driven half-century guided Sunrisers Hyderabad back to winning ways as they thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders by 65 runs in their IPL 2026 clash in Kolkata on Thursday.
Blessing Muzarabani grabbed 4/41, but it was Klaasen's composed 52 off 35 balls that held Sunrisers Hyderabad's innings together as they posted a competitive 226/8 after KKR opted to bowl.
Chasing the daunting target, KKR never found momentum as they were bundled out for 161 and slumped to their second successive defeat, having lost their opening match to Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium.
Boasting a batting-heavy line-up featuring Finn Allen, IPL's costliest overseas buy Cameron Green (Rs 25.20 crore), Rinku Singh and Sunil Narine, the target at the free-flowing Eden Gardens looked par.
They needed a partnership in the middle, but there were clear signs of a lack of chemistry in the KKR line-up as the innings lasted just 16 overs.
That their mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy leaked 25 runs in one over and returned figures of 0/31 from two overs also hurt them. Narine (0/39) too returned wicketless from his four overs.
For SRH, left-arm pacer Jaydev Unadkat took 3/21 from three overs, including the wicket of Rahane, while Ehsan Malinga (2/14 in two overs) and Nitish Kumar Reddy (2/17 in two overs) were also effective.
