Abdullah Shafique | 44 | 105 | 3 | 1 | 41.90 |
c Pat Cummins b Nathan Lyon
34 OUT! TAKEN! That is an outstanding catch from Cummins! Nathan Lyon gets the wicket Australia so desperately needed. Abdullah Shafique walks back 6 short of a half ton. He probably wanted to get to the milestone quickly. That perhaps was playing on his mind. Looks to get to it with one hit. Steps out, Lyon drags the length back just a little. Abdullah Shafique still looks to go big, he does go with the turn but there is extra bounce which Lyon usually gets. It goes off the top edge towards mid on. Cummins, from mid off, runs there and takes a tumbling catch. A wicket at the stroke of Lunch. Just what they would have wanted. They do have time for another one. 105/1

Imam-ul-Haq | 157 | 358 | 16 | 2 | 43.85 |
lbw b Pat Cummins
120.5 OUT! THE FINGER IS RAISED! Pat Cummins has got Imam LBW or has he? Imam reviews and IT IS TAKEN UPSTAIRS! THREE REDS AND IMAM WALKS BACK! He also takes a review along and Australia have finally broken the marathon stand and ended the marathon innings from the opener. It is the skipper who delivers for Australia. He goes fuller this time, it starts around middle and leg and tails back in late. Imam plants his front foot across but then fails to get his bat down in time. It hits his pad as the flick shot is missed. An appeal and up goes the finger. Imam reviews but in vain. 313/2

Azhar Ali | 185 | 361 | 15 | 3 | 51.24 |
c Cameron Green b Marnus Labuschagne
155.4 OUT! TAKEN! Ali misses out on his double ton! Marnus Labuschagne gets a wicket. A good gesture from him, he congratulates Azhar as he walks back. Ali looks to play the reverse sweep, this is tossed up outside off, the ball spins away, there is some extra bounce too. It shoots off the top edge towards short third man. Cameron Green uses his long reach well, as he moves back, stretches his hands out and takes an easy catch. All eyes towards the Pakistan dressing room but there is no sign of a declaration. 442/4

Babar Azam C | 36 | 82 | 3 | 0 | 43.90 |
run out (Marnus Labuschagne)
147.1 OUT! RUN OUT! BABAR IS WELL SHORT! Another big stand comes to an end. A run out is probably the only way one of these two could have been dismissed. Excellent from Marnus Labuschagne and such efforts can surely lift the side. This is on middle, it is worked towards mid-wicket. Azam calls for one. Marnus Labuschagne there runs to his right, picks the ball up, turns his body and has a shy at the bowler's end. He hits, the umpire takes it upstairs but Australia are celebrating. Replays roll in and they show Azam is easily short. He is gutted as he walks back. 414/3

Usman Khawaja | 97 | 159 | 15 | 0 | 61.00 |
c Imam-ul-Haq b Nauman Ali
53.3 OUT! TAKEN! Pakistan put in a loud appeal but the umpire is unmoved. Pakistan review, Usman Khawaja is the man in question. Has he fallen three short of a ton? YES, HE HAS! Heartbreak for Usman Khawaja on his return to the home soil. UltraEdge shows there is something as it passes the glove. That is an excellent review from the hosts and now they have both the openers back in the hut and have one relatively new batter and one very new at the crease. Nauman Ali strikes now. Usman Khawaja will be gutted with himself. He played so, so well. Really not sure why he tried playing that shot. He is very confident about it but it is always a risky stroke on a wicket that is offering turn. This lands outside off, turns back in. Khawaja looks to play the reverse sweep. This one turns back in and there is also extra bounce. It hits the gloves, as the replays showed later, and lobs to the short leg fielder where it is taken by Imam-ul-Haq. Pakistan can now capitalize here. Australia are still a long way behind. 203/2
David Warner | 68 | 114 | 12 | 0 | 59.64 |
b Sajid Khan
40.4 OUT! TIMBER! Stop the press, Pakistan have managed to break the mammoth opening stand. The crowd here comes to life and it is Sajid Khan who strikes and gets rid of the dangerous Warner. David just misread the length and the line. He chose the wrong ball to cut. This is flatter and around off, it comes in with the angle at 84.4 kph and also stays a touch low. Warner stays leg side and looks to manufacture a square cut but this goes past his bat and hits the stumps. Sajid is absolutely pumped up. Is this the opening Pakistan needed? Australia are still 320 runs behind. Chance now for Pakistan to apply pressure. 156/1
Marnus Labuschagne | 90 | 158 | 12 | 0 | 56.96 |
c Abdullah Shafique b Shaheen Afridi
85 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Marnus Labuschagne just does not want to go. He stands there for a second in disbelief after the catch is taken. He had played so well and deserved a ton. His first game in Asian conditions for the Aussies in Tests, gets into the nervous 90s and falls. Second player in this game for the Aussies to fall in the 90s. The second new ball does the trick for Pakistan. Shaheen Afridi finally gets a wicket. He deserves it, he has been excellent so far and is rewarded. He goes around the wicket, lands it just behind a driving length. Draws Marnus Labuschagne ahead who looks to drive. The length was not quite there. The ball lands and moves away. Takes the outside edge and the fielder at first slip, Abdullah Shafique takes a superb catch diving to his right. That was going quickly to him. Marnus Labuschagne was probably eager to get to his ton quickly. Had it been earlier in the innings, he would have probably left that ball but this time went chasing after it. 311/3
Steven Smith | 78 | 196 | 8 | 0 | 39.79 |
c Mohammad Rizwan b Nauman Ali
124.5 OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! So the ploy to bowl from over the wicket and around Smith's pads has done wonders for Pakistan! Another Australian batter who gifts his wicket away! Nauman Ali serves a flatter ball, down leg. Smith prods and tries to sweep it fine through the fine leg region but he fails to do so. The ball brushes off his glove and goes to Mohammad Rizwan behind the sticks who takes a sharp catch. Pakistan are ecstatic as they should be! Another Aussie batter fails to go on and get a big one after getting set. Australia lose their sixth wicket now! 422/6
Travis Head | 8 | 7 | 2 | 0 | 114.28 |
c Mohammad Rizwan b Nauman Ali
87.4 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Two wickets in quick succession for Pakistan and the move to get Nauman Ali on has worked wonders. Just the two boundaries for Head. He just misread the length here. This is a delivery, he should have probably played on the front foot but goes back, tries the approach the Aussies have been using so far but since it is the new ball, it does not work. It is outside off, tossed up. Head goes back and looks to cut, this one skids through, it takes the outside edge and the keeper, Mohammad Rizwan does the rest. The Aussies still 150 runs behind. 326/4
Cameron Green | 48 | 109 | 4 | 0 | 44.03 |
c Iftikhar Ahmed b Nauman Ali
120.4 OUT! CAUGHT! A wicket against the run of play! Green has just thrown away his wicket as he could have hit this loose ball anywhere on the leg side. He would be gutted as he has also fallen just two runs short of his fifty. Nauman Ali serves a half-tracker, down leg. Green gets low and looks to whack it behind square on the leg side. He only manages to get a top edge which lobs up in the air towards the short fine leg fielder who was kept too fine intentionally. Iftikhar Ahmed there, makes no mistake and this is a much-needed breakthrough for Pakistan! 407/5
Alex Carey Wk | 19 | 43 | 3 | 0 | 44.18 |
b Naseem Shah
135.5 OUT! TIMBER! Naseem Shah strikes and this is a peach of a delivery by the youngster to get rid of Carey! Shah comes 'round the wicket and serves a length ball, just outside off. The ball nips back in slightly and Carey plays it down the wrong line as he tries to block it. The ball hits the top of off stump and Carey is a goner. Pakistan on top at the moment as Australia lose their seventh wicket now. Pat Cummins walks out to bat. 444/7
Mitchell Starc | 13 | 45 | 1 | 0 | 28.88 |
lbw b Shaheen Afridi
140 OUT! LBW! That looked plumb in front! Shaheen Afridi doing what he does best! He runs in and serves a yorker, angling in from off. Mitchell Starc fails to dig it out and gets hit low on his pad. Shaheen Afridi appeals and the umpire agrees. Starc opts for a review straightaway! No bat involved, confirms the UltraEdge. The Ball Tracker rolls in and it indicates three reds. Pakistan have their ninth wicket. 459/9
Pat Cummins C | 8 | 11 | 2 | 0 | 72.72 |
c Imam-ul-Haq b Nauman Ali
138.3 OUT! CAUGHT! A soft dismissal and Nauman Ali bags a five-wicket haul! He tosses it up nicely, outside off, enticing the batter to drive. Cummins prods and looks to drive it away from his body through cover. It goes off the outer half of the blade and he just chips it in the end towards Imam-ul-Haq at extra cover who takes a sharp catch. Pat Cummins stands there in disbelief. Pakistan strike early on Day 5! 455/8
Nathan Lyon | 3 | 7 | 0 | 0 | 42.85 |
lbw b Nauman Ali
140.1 OUT! LBW! Nauman Ali picks his sixth wicket and that is it for Australia! Nauman Ali serves a flatter ball, on off that goes on with the arm. Nathan Lyon kneels and looks to sweep but he misses and gets pinged on his pad. Ali appeals and the umpire raises his finger. Lyon though takes a review but to no avail. The Ball Tracker indicates three reds and it is plumb. Lyon, however, had already taken the walk back to the pavilion. Australia are bowled out for 459. 459/10
