London:
According to him, playing in next year's IPL would be a perfect way to prepare for the World Twenty20 and hence it makes lot of sense.
"It would be brilliant," Shah told 'The Times'.
"We are about to play a World Cup, so why not play some Twenty20? It makes sense," he said.
"All it could do is boost England's chances of winning. It's not something I've discussed with Middlesex but I'm sure they'd be understanding if I wanted to play in IPL," Shah said.
Because of his recent form, Shah is likely to find a place in England side when national selectors announce their team for the Stanford Challenge in Antigua for the biggest purse in the game's history.
Thanks to Middlesex's Twenty20 Cup triumph, Shah will play against Trinidad for a prize money of $400,000 followed by the Champions League where his county will lock horns with seven other teams for prize-money worth $10 million.
