Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni has put up a brave face despite three straight humiliating defeats in England, saying that the Indian players are still the best in the world.
Having lost the top spot to England, doubts were raised over the competitiveness of the Indian team but the skipper continued to have faith in the Indian players. "I think our players are still the best in the world; still plenty of cricket left in them" said Dhoni. (Also see: Team India: Bruised and battered in Birmingham)
A cramped schedule is constantly being blamed for the poor performance of Team India and the role of the Board of Cricket Control of India has also been in question. The BCCI is due to meet on Monday and it is believed that the team's poor performance would be high on the agenda of the richest cricket board in the world.
India have been dominated in each of the first three Test matches against England and a 4-0 whitewash is well on the cards as a so-far flawless England side await India at the Oval for the final Test match of the series.
