Statistical highlights on the opening day of the first cricket Test between India and England on Thursday.

England became the first visiting side to appear in 50 Tests in India. Australia and West Indies have played 40 Tests each in India.
Strauss became the third English left-hander to register two hundreds against India. Geoff Pullar was the first to accomplish the feat by scoring 131 at Old Trafford in 1959 and 119 at Kanpur in 1961-62, followed by David Gower - 200 not out at Edgbaston in 1979 and 157 not out at The Oval in 1990.
Harbhajan, with two wickets on first day, has taken his tally of wickets to 57 in 12 Tests this year. His tally is the second best this year, next only to South Africa's Dale Steyn - 60 in 11 Tests.
Off spinner Graeme Swann became the 641st player to appear in a Test match for England.
Zaheer Khan (191 wickets in 61 Tests) has surpassed Prasanna's wicket-aggregate of 189 in 49 Tests.
The 118-run stand is the fourth 100-plus partnership for the first wicket for Strauss and Cook - their overall aggregate being 1653 runs in 39 innings at an average of 42.38 including four partnerships of 100-plus and seven fifty-plus.
Cook's third Test fifty against India is his 15th overall.
