Live Score: Sachin vs Warne
That's all from this game. With Warne's Warriors taking the lead 1-0, can Sachin's Blasters come out and level the series in the next game? Do join us to find out on 12th November at 0730 IST. Until then, goodbye and have a great weekend!
MAN OF THE MATCH, SHANE WARNE is very happy with the way boys played and is very happy to see such a huge crowd support coming and supporting them in a baseball stadium. Further adds he is very proud of the whole team. Says they bowled well as they very well knew that Sachin's team will come out hard. The first three-four balls he couldn't bowl well but it came out good later on. Says it was good to see Sachin ringing the opening bell at NYC stock exchange. Ends by saying a big thank you to the crowd again.
SACHIN TENDULKAR feels that this first match was very special for him. They have thoroughly enjoyed, he thanks NYC for supporting them as well. Adds cricket wise, though they have enjoyed but it's the crowd that mattered. Further adds it was competitive at one stage but Ponting and Sangakkara batted well and got through. He thinks the opening partnership was good between himself and Sehwag and they consolidated thereafter. Feels Shane Warne's spell was superb at the moment he steamed in. Ends by saying, the tournament is called, Sachin vs Warne but they are 30 superstars and all are champions in every sense. Confirms his body state is all fine and will look to come out and play good cricket next.
To be honest, Warne's team looks way stronger than Tendulkar's. Both maestros showed what they are made up of today but the Aussie hogged the limelight with 3 wickets upfront - that of Tendulkar, Lara and Laxman, thereby killing the contest in the first 60 minutes of the match. Stay tuned for the presentation...
The Blasters did manage to build some pressure when Akhtar and Murali were bowling but sadly, the rest could not back them up. The target of 141 was not big enough for the Warriors who now have made the first statement in this 3-match series.
That is the end of the first game then. The build up was excellent, so was the start but sadly, the game failed to live upto its hype. The Blasters collapsed once Tendulkar fell while the Warriors did fall in some early trouble when Hayden and Kallis fell in quick succession. But Ponting and Sangakkara relieved the pressure with an 80-run stand and then there was hardly any contest.
SIX! That's all over! Rhodes finishes things off in style. Tendulkar bowls a full toss outside off, Rhodes quickly changes the position and reverse sweeps it over third man for a biggie. Tendulkar gives a smile and Rhodes winks. Wilkins on air says, it's victory for everyone. WARNE'S WARRIORS WIN BY 6 WICKETS!
Loopy delivery around off, Ponting drives it towards covers for a single. Just 6 needed now, can Jonty do it in some style?
Full length delivery on the pads, Rhodes looks to flick but misses and gets hit on the pads.
SIX! Pulled away! Short of a length delivery, Rhodes swivels pulls and pulls hard over mid-wicket for another biggie of the over.
