He terrorized batsmen the world over with his lethal swing and toe-crushers for years but former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram proved he was capable of bowling his fans over on a completely different platform too. The 49-year-old recently walked the ramp with his Australian wife Shaniera at the Bridal Couture Week in Karachi.
The couple looked gorgeous in attires designed by Pakistani fashion designers Asifa and Nabeel as they walked hand-in-hand on the last day of the fashion week. This was not the first time Akram had flaunted designer clothes - he had earlier walked the ramp at the Fashion Pakistan Week in Karachi. (Pakistan Cricketers Missing Out on IPL: Akram)
Akram finished with 414 Test wickets and 502 ODI victims in a career-spanning 19 years. After he retired in 2003, the flamboyant cricketer took to commentary and became an instant hit behind the microphone with his articulate and frank analysis of the game. He has also shown exemplary coaching skills in his role as a bowling consultant for the Kolkata Knight Riders. The legendary Pakistani will soon be seen in action on the field when the Masters Cricket League starts in Dubai from next year.
Akram has endeared himself to the cricketing public with his bold views on the state of cricket in Pakistan. He recently slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board over their strict discipline policies and asked the country's administrators to stop treating their players like schoolchildren.
