Second Test vs Bangladesh: Kumar Sangakkara becomes second to hit triple ton, century in same match

Sangakkara hit 319 runs in the first innings for Sri Lanka and 105 in the second on Friday, in the second Test against Bangladesh. (Day report)
Sangakarra missed the chance of breaking Gooch's record of most runs in a Test, as he required 137, but he was dismissed by Sohag Gazi after facing 144 balls, including 11 boundaries and two sixes.
Gooch scored 333 and 123, for an aggregate of 456, against India at Lord's in 1990.
Sangakkara was dropped on 36 by Nasir Hossain at deep mid-wicket off the bowling of Shakib Al Hasan.
