London:

Batsman Eoin Morgan has been given a contract with the England national team after starring in recent limited-overs matches.

Morgan struck a match-winning 67 not out in last month's first Twenty20 against Pakistan and on Tuesday became the first man to hit a one-day century for two countries.

The former Ireland player struck 110 not out from 104 balls to steer England to a two-wicket win over Bangladesh and has now played enough games in 12 months to qualify for a so-called incremental contract.

England and Wales Cricket Board managing director Hugh Morris says Morgan is "an established member of our one-day and T20 sides."
