New Delhi:
Hayden, initially using normal bat, changed to the 'Mongoose bat' after the initial three overs and it showed immediate results as the former Australian clobbered Rajat Bhatia for three fours and a six in the next over, before hitting three sixes off Tillakaratne Dilshan in the 8th over.
"It is always good to try out new products. The mongoose bat is a good product as its gives you lot of power to hit the ball a long way," said Hayden, who blasted a 43-ball 93, bejewelled with nine fours and seven sixes.
"It is very much like a normal bat, but it surely gives a great deal of power with its sweet spot at the centre of the bat," added the burly opener.
Chennai Super Kings captain Suresh Raina also shared his experience about the specially designed bat.
"Hayden has got different idea about the game. He practised with the Mongoose bat in Chennai and here also. Yes, he played well. I also used it for sometime but I didn't like it. It didn't suit me so I changed it," he said.
Daredevils captain Dinesh Karthik said, "Hayden is a hard-hitting batsman with Mongoose or without mongoose. HeLi bats the same way."
The revolutionary "Mongoose" bat has a longer handle and smaller blade but a bigger sweet spot than the conventional cricket bat.
