Michael Clarke has been blessed with baby joy on Tuesday, according to reports. The former Australian captain and his wife Kyly have welcomed a baby girl. She is five weeks premature.
The news of the baby being born broke on TV. Today host Karl Stefanovic, quoting "very close source" said baby and mum were in good health.
In October, Clarke and Kyly said they were expecting an early Christmas gift. The baby was due in December last week. Clarke had retired at the end of the fifth Ashes Test against England at the Oval as Australia's fourth-highest run-scorer behind Ricky Ponting, Allan Border and Steve Waugh. Clarke told Telegraph Sport: "When me and my wife fell pregnant we weren't worried if it was going to be a boy or a girl. The only thing that mattered is that it'd be healthy."
The couple, married for three years, took to social media in July to say they were going to become parents. The pair, who met at school, married on May 15, 2012 after dating for 18 months.
