Dhoni ends Jammu & Kashmir trip with visit to Kargil war memorial

Indian cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Wednesaday visited the Kargil War Memorial to pay homage to the martyrs, winding up his five-day visit to the state.
Dhoni, who is Army's goodwill ambassador and an honorary Lt Colonel, arrived at the Kargil helipad where he was received by Brigadier Shami Raj, defence sources said.
The India captain laid a wreath at Kargil War Memorial and paid homage to the martyrs. He also interacted with the officers and Jawans of the army and villagers of Kaksar, the sources said.
With this, Dhoni completed his five-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir during which he visited forward areas in Rajouri in Jammu region, Baramulla in Kashmir and Karu in Ladakh region. Dhoni's visit to Siachen the highest battleground in the world had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. He will return to Delhi on Thursday, the sources said.
