Bangladesh, replying to South Africa's first innings total of 248, were 179-4 when rain stopped play for a second time moments after the game resumed at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in the third session.
Match officials called off play at 4:50pm local time (GMT 10:50) with 25 overs left in the day.

That's a great effort by Bangladesh. They have managed to gain a healthy lead at the end of the second innings. This is their highest score against South Africa in Test matches. For the hosts, Tamim, Mahmudullah and Das showed some fight and scored fifties. Shakib had a chance to get a fifty as well but he got out to a rash shot.
