New Delhi:

The terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in Lahore on March 3 this year was funded from Sri Lanka, according to Pakistan Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

"Attack on Sri Lankan cricket team was funded from Sri Lanka. This was disclosed to me in Libya by the Sri Lankan PM," said Gilani.

Gilani also said an Interior Ministry official would soon visit Sri Lanka to probe this.

On March 3, fourteen masked, heavily armed gunmen launched an attack on the visiting Sri Lankan team in Lahore, killing six policemen and injuring seven players and officials.

Five cricketers - Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera and Tharanga Paranavitana - were injured in the attack. The driver of one of the buses in the team's convoy was also killed.
